Fixed Price Lots

What Are Fixed Price Lots?

WineCommune permits sellers with feedback ratings of 5 or higher to post Fixed Price Lots. In a fixed price lot, the seller offers wine for a specific price. The lot appears within WineCommune's regular listings. A buyer can then review the lot and buy the wine at the price offered. A fixed price lot is not an auction. The buyer only has the choice to accept the price the seller has posted or not buy the wine. One important benefit, is that a seller can offer multiple quantities of the same wine, which can be sold to various buyers. For example, if a seller offers 5 bottles of a particular wine, if one buyer takes one bottle, the lot remains open, but with only 4 bottles remaining. The lot will close at the designated closing time or when all of the available quantity of the wine has been bought. In a fixed price lot, neither the buyer nor the seller has to wait for the lot to close. Once the buyer buys a lot from a fixed price auction, both the seller and buyer receive an email notice of the transaction. You can close the deal immediately without having to wait for the full duration of a normal auction.

Buying Fixed Price Lots

A fixed price allows buyers to immediately buy the item for sale. It is not an auction. When you buy a fixed price lot, you are buying the item described at the price listed.

Buying a fixed price lot is simple. Scroll to the bottom of the lot page to the "Buy this Item" box. Review the price being charged and select the quantity you want (if more than 1 is available). Select the Buy It! button. You will be asked to login and confirm your purchase.

Once you have bought an item, both you and the seller will receive an email confirmation of the transaction. You should contact the seller within 3 business days to complete the deal.

Getting Started – How to Post Your Wine for Sale in a Fixed Price Lot

To prepare for your auction, you’ll need to gather the following information about your wine listing:

Your Item Description
Be as descriptive as possible to market your wine: The name of the wine, year/vintage; details about the flavor and body of the wine; nose and aroma; age, condition of bottle and label, etc., and how the bottle(s) has been stored, are all very helpful in describing the condition and appeal of the product you are selling. If you have any history on the wine or ratings it has received, these are also useful in communicating the value of your wine to the buyer.

The URL or Web Site Address to Photos of the Wine
It is a very good idea to provide a picture of your wine along with the description. A clear, easily viewable image of the wine bottle and label are an added bonus in providing proof of the condition of the wine.
