Bad image: Not clear what's for sale, poor lighting |
Good image: Subject in focus, good lighting |
To edit your image, use the editing software included with your digital camera or scanner.
Alternatively, free programs are available from shareware.com or tucows.com. Other editing software packages include Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition or Microsoft Picture It!Tips
- Picture file size should be under 50 KB (kilobytes) for quick page downloads.
- The visual size of your picture should be no larger than a standard photograph (3" by 5" or 4" by 6").
- Remove unnecessary background.
- Save your edited picture as a JPEG or JPG file (file types other than JPEG, JPG, or GIF should not be used). Here's how:
- Choose Save As from the File menu.
- Name your file.
- Select JPEG or JPG from the "Save as type" drop-down list.
Note: Selecting JPEG or JPG will automatically end your filename with .jpg (for example, carphoto will now be carphoto.jpg).

You're now ready to move on to Step 3: Include the photo in your item listing! |

Step 3: Include the photo in your item listing
When you use the Post an Item form to list a new item for sale (either an auction item or fixed price listing) look for the Photo Upload section. To add your photo, click the Browse button in that section. You will be asked to locate the photo on your computer using the standard file manager. That's it! When you post your item, the photo will be automatically taken from your computer and uploaded to our servers. Each time someone looks at the item they will see your photo. |
