One Rare 375ml Half- Bottle of the Excellent and Very Rare 1962 Vintage of Château Franc-Maillet . Château Franc-Maillet is the Famous , Reputable Estate in Pomerol with Very small Production and Very High Standards. This Rare 1962 Vintage was an Excellent one- The 1962 Vintage was an Excellent one for all of Bordeaux , but unfortunately it was Overshadowed by the Outstanding 1961 Vintage which preceeded it. This 1962 Château Franc-Maillet has been rated a High * * * * - 4 Stars by Michael Broadbent, Famous Author and Wine Critic. Here is what he says about the 1962 Bordeaux Vintage : 1962 -A Vintage Overshadowed by the Incomparable 1961. Abundant Crop, une tres Bonne Annee ( A Very Good Year). A Very Hot Summer tempered by welcome showers in September which swelled the Berries; and a Late Harvest, beginning October 9 . Firm, Well-Coloured Wines, with some of the Leanness of the 1966s. Never Fully appreciated. Pleasant Pauillacs: Excellent Flavour and Balance; Fine Classic Wines. * * * * - Michael Broadbent. Château Franc-Maillet is a Pomerol property that you do not see often in the U.S. The Miniscule Production rarely gets shipped outside of France and a few select European countries. Merlot makes up 80% of the Blend and the Balance is dedicated to the Cabernet Franc grape. Château Franc-Maillet is in an Excellent location in Pomerol, and is situated next to Gazin with l’Evangile just down the road. The texture of Château Franc-Maillet is Luscious with a Berry theme and Black Cherries, Chocolate-Mocha, Toasty Oak, low acidity and Silky Ripe Tannins. Classic Pomerol . This Rare Bottle is in Mint Condition and is in Commercial Storage. Thanks for looking.
