| Sampled 6/25/09. This wine is packed with smokey caramel, especially on the finish. Notes of vanilla, Oak and cream. At little alcohol on the finish too, which is 30+ seconds in length. The color is darker than many Sauternes of the vintage, but this is not because it is prematurely aging. This wine has an enormous amount of life left in it. One interesting point is that I have never seen so much residual sugar settle in the bottle for such a quality Sauternes. |
