| Sampled 6/28/09. Vincent Arroyo is always one of our stops in Napa. They only sell at the winery and off their mailing list. They produce quite a variety of red wines, all small production. The 2004 Sangiovese was light and elegant. Unfortunately, the 2006 did not compare and is just a ruby-colored Oak monster. There is some good Sangiovese fruit underneath the forest of Oak. Even if you like Oak, however, the alcohol is a bit too high (13.8%) for this medium bodied wine and that hurts its score a point as well. |
