What is the difference between a WineCommune Store and regular auction and fixed price listings in WineCommune?
Your WineCommune store allows you to post your wine inventory for sale at a set price. Your inventory items will never expire or close like a regular WineCommune lot. Your item will remain active until it is sold out or you delete it. WineCommune automatically tracks how many of an inventory item you have available and removes it from your store when it sells out. Your store is fully e-commerce enabled. If you choose, you can setup your store to automatically calculate shipping and sales tax information for customers so all you have to do is collect payment and ship out the wine. How secure is WineCommune's e-commerce platform?
We use industry-standard SSL encryption to transmit sensitive information securely both on the way from the shopper to our computers, and again from our computers to you, the merchant.

Do I have to sign a contract with WineCommune?
You have to agree to our Terms of Service, but you don't have to sign up for a fixed period of time. You can cancel your account at any time.

Can I use www.my-own-store.com as my Store's web address?
Yes, many store merchants do. WineCommune Store includes an easy-to-use built-in tool that lets you register your own domain name (my-own-store.com). If you already have a domain name, we can help you transfer it.

How do I receive orders from online customers?
There are three ways to receive orders:

1. Most merchants view orders in their web browser: just log in to your Store Manager. Once you've logged in, you'll be able to view orders over a secure connection.
2. You can have orders sent to you by fax.
3. You can have orders sent to you by email.

Can I do online credit card authorizations in my WineCommune Store?
You can process orders online or through your existing in-store system -- it's up to you.

Do I have to know HTML?
No, you won't need to use HTML. To create your WineCommune Store, you can type in the name, price, item number, description, etc., for each item you plan to sell.

On the other hand, you can use HTML if you like -- simply add HTML tags to the text that you enter.

Can I change a store once I've created it?
You can update your site as often as you want, from any Internet-connected computer. Some of our users update their sites several times a day.

While you're editing your site, visitors will continue to see the current version, but once you publish your changes, the updated version becomes visible instantly.

Can I get statistics about what is happening in my store?
Yes. WineCommune Store's tracking tools are powerful and extensive, and make it easy to view traffic and sales on a daily basis.

I have a database of all my inventory. Can I use that database to build my store?
Yes. You can upload your database files, inspect the data, and then build your entire site with one click. Several of our largest merchants have built their WineCommune Stores this way.

Do we need any special hardware or software to use WineCommune Store?
You don't need anything more than you are using to read this page -- a computer with a web browser and a way to connect to the Internet.

In order to include images in your Store you may want a scanner or digital camera.

The only software you need is an ordinary web browser: Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Will WineCommune help me drive traffic to my WineCommune Store?
Yes. All WineCommune Stores have the opportunity to participate in WineCommune Shopping, one of the Web's biggest shopping destinations.

WineCommune Store offers tools that make it easy for search engines to find all your pages. In addition, you can automatically submit your pages to all the major search engines right from the Store Manager.

We already have a web site. Can we use WineCommune Store to build a storefront and put just the e-commerce part of our site on your servers?
Yes, many of our users create a WineCommune Store for this purpose, and it works fine.

Will anyone else have access to my sales data?
We publish aggregate statistics, but we never disclose sales data for a specific WineCommune Store without your prior consent.

We understand the value of customer lists for direct marketers, and our policy is that this information is your property. We do not sell customer names or other information.

Is WineCommune Store available for merchants outside the United States?
At this time being, WineCommune Store is available in Canada and the United States only. We look forward to offering the WineCommune Store platform to merchants in other parts of the world.
