The bouquet is powerful, and a bit penetrating, with spice mingled with white truffles and nose-tingling acidity; there's also a fair amount of alcohol. On the palate it's bright, with rich sour cherry fruit supported by sour berry fruit acidity and by tannins that are ample and smooth, working towards silky.
