1989 Prieure Lichine Margaux Red Blend Condition: The 1989 Prieure-Lichine is one of the richest and fullest wines this property has made in the last three decades. Substantial in size, with gobs of ripe currant fruit, full body, soft, plentiful tannins, and a heady alcohol degree, this velvety wine should prove charming early in its life, but easily last for 15 or more years. Sacha Lichine employed 60 percent new oak in 1989, which he believes is essential to support the rich fruit. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 4/91. RP WA88 |
