2004 Esmonin, Frederic Charmes Chambertin Rouge
Condition:
(real Charmes, not Mazoyeres) Palish red. Reduced on the nose and thus lower-toned today, with a dominant note of smoked meat. Then sweeter and softer on the palate, quite tendre for young Charmes and for the vintage. Today this shows less ripeness and cut than the Mazis, but this may not be in the best condition for tasting today. ST
