We have brought back, after only a very short absence, a 2007
Macon-Villages from Henri Perrusset. This is such a wonderful
“introductory” Burgundy from the southern part of the region where the
growing season is a bit warmer and the resulting juice exhibits the
wonderful round flavors and suggestions of toast, even though it never
sees a day in oak. Sometimes white Burgundies have so much lively
acidity that it may obstruct other components, but this one is round,
dry, mouthfilling with great chardonnay fruit.
