Another wine from the Listrac-Medoc
appelation and very drinkable. 2003 was a good vintage for the
region. You can really taste the Merlot in this wine and though my
preference is usually for Cabernet Sauvingon heavy wines I find the
balance of this wine keeps me on side (58% Merlot to 35% Cab Sav). The wine also has a small amount of
Petit Verdot grapes (7%) in the mix.
The viticulteurs of the wine, M-C and J-C Dufau, refer to it as a
“modern wine” and it does have a balance and flavor that I would not
immediately guess as a Listrac wine.
Drink this distinctive wine with pasta but it is
rich enough to enjoy with cheese and would certainly go well with a
steak. |
