With large vineyard holdings in Chavignol, Henri Bourgeois produces both estate and négociant
Sancerre (as well as Pouilly-Fumé). Highlights here are the
single-vineyard and proprietary bottlings made from old vines in and
around Chavignol, especially a wine made in the best vintages from the
Monts Damnés (MD) vineyard, one of the top sites in the Loire valley.
The family has been involved in winemaking for ten generations, and the
estate now encompasses 65 hectares of vineyards on some of the best
slopes in Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. |
