Fleur du Cap, part of the Distell group, has a cellar (known as Bergkelder) that was built into Papegaaiberg, a mountain in Stellenbosch. The first wine was released in 1968 after the cellar was finished. The grapes for this wine were handpicked from 5 – 13 year old vineyards in Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Franschhoek and Malmesbury areas. The wine is barrel aged for 6 months.
