Gouguenheim , located in Valle Escondido (about 50 miles from Mendoza), is now producing some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Chardonnay and Merlot in Argentina. The grapes for this wine come from Tupungato, 3,300 feet above sea level. The region has a desert climate with about 320 days of sunshine per year. Water for the vineyards comes from runoff from the Andes Mountains and is irrigated into the sandy soil. ""Dark red color, rich and strong. Aromas include scents of plums, black cherry, black currant, chocolates and violets. Round and supple with a long finish."" Winery notes |
