Named for the Tuscan term for the escarpments common in the area, this
is a deep, dark, ruby-red wine. I Piaggioni has important aromas of
sweet oak on the nose, balanced with ripe fruit, chocolate and vanilla.
On the palate it is round with good intensity; notes of fruit and wood
are equally displayed with a touch of licorice on the finish. Both
alcoholic and malolactic fermentation are carried out in stainless
steel. The wine is aged 8 months in tonneaux, of which 30% are new, 30%
1-year-old, and 30% 2-year-old, followed by 8 months in the bottle
before release. Denomination: ROSSO TOSCANO I.G.T. Blend: 100%
