Jim Barry Shiraz 'The McRae Wood' 2003 --Stephen Tanzer 92 750ml
| "Deep, violet-tinged ruby. Ripe dark berry and cassis aromas, with a strong overlay of exotic, toasty oak. Sweet and fat on the palate, showing flavors of ripe blackberry, raspberry preserves, vanilla and cinnamon toast. Finishes wonderfully lush and sweet but vibrant, with fully absorbed tannins. The obvious oak treatment seems only to have enhanced the hugely expressive, sweet berry qualities of this wine." 92 points, Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer's Int'l Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 05.
