Located in the beautiful and spectacular viticultural region of Pemberton, in the south west of Western Australia, wine write James Halliday describes Salitage as: "The most important winery in the Pemberton region. Salitage is the showpiece of Pemberton. If it had failed to live up to expectations it is a fair bet the same fate would have befallen the whole Pemberton region." Twenty years later Pemberton is recognised as one of the premier cool climate wine regions in Australia and Salitage continues to lead.
Their value-oriented "Treehouse" label contains Salitage fruit and is complimented with some other varieties grown in adjacent vineyards around Pemberton.
"Treehouse Sauvignon Blanc 2005 - Attractive tropical bouquet, and similar fruit on the palate, bolstered by a touch of sweetness." 91 pts, James Halliday's Wine Companion 2007.
"A range of tropical fruit aromas suggestive of stonefruit and passionfruit, coupled with gooseberry and dried herbs. In the mouth the wine has good fruit flavour and richness with crisp acidity and a lingering finish." Winemaker's notes. |
