Muddy Water Pinot Noir 'Mojo' 2004 750ml

The Christchurch Press, May 26 2006, Simon Cunliff: "Happily, my visit coincided with the imminent release of the Muddy Water Mojo Pinot Noir 2004.  This is a reserve-equivalent wine, fashioned from parcels of superior grapes that have yielded a wine of special character.  It weighs in as 14% alcohol and has a lovely, inviting nose, is light on its feet but full of fruity cherry and berry flavours, with enough French oak and residual acid to give it the sort of deportment one expects from a superior burgundian-style wine.  Coincidentally, the grapes come from the areas of the vineyard that yielded the first Mojo pinot in 2000.  I can't recall that particular wine,  but if the superb 2004 is anything to go by, in the words of the old Muddy Waters blues standard, Waipara's Muddy Water truly has got its Mojo workin'."
