Neudorf Chardonnay 'Moutere' 2005 750ml

"The one Southern Hemisphere white I'd take to a desert island would be Neudorf Chardonnay (Moutere). No other wine has stacked up as consistently against the ultra-snazzy chardonnays of Puligny-Montrachet in Burgundy." The Dominion, Dr. Paul White.

"Taste any of Neudorf Vineyard's wines and it is obvious why many consider Tim Finn to be among New Zealand's very best winemakers.  Finn offers complexity and interest where others settle for less..." Tim Atkin, MW, Wine (UK)

WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS
"A wine of outstanding poise, it offers the full complex of traditional Neudorf flavours and textures enveloping a trail of exceptionally intense bright mineral acidity. On the nose look for lemon zest, smoky spice and a little grilled nuts. It is still tight across the palate with enough textured density to balance the taut minerality. Glimpses of creaminess around a core of citrus fruit. The oak handling is pulled back and this wine tips its hat to the fine white Burgundies of its vinous heritage. It is a poised, directional wine, and promises an exceptional future."
