Blanco Nieva Verdejo 2006 750ml
| Rueda is located in Castilla and Leon with the Duero river flowing east to west across the northern part of the growing region at altitudes from 1,980-2,500 feet . For much of the 20th century, the native grape Verdejo has been the region’s sleeping beauty. Modern Rueda is a light, fruity, dry white wine. It may be made from a blend of Viura and Verdejo, the latter accounting for at least 25 percent of the blend.
Bodegas Viñedos de Nieva has 55 hectares of Verdejo, some of which are 150 year old vines, mostly ungrafted. All of the grapes used to make the Blanco Nieva are estate grown. This wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks from very old vines which produce extremely low yields.
