Peregrine Pinot Noir 2002 -4 of 5 stars, Cuisine Magazine 750ml
| Another new arrival is the 2002 Peregrine ($29.99) who have recently moved into their new winery, a stunning architectural design located in the Gibbston Valley. While Berridge’s pinot received a gold medal at the Air New Zealand Awards, Peregrine won gold at the Sydney Top 100 Show. Peregrine also has a blending philosophy with their fruit coming from Gibbston Valley and the warmer regions of Lowburn and Northburn. Both these pinots show rich palates with hints of cherries and a spicy, dusty finish. With some air, a sweet mid-palate emerges. --Chuck Hayward's The Down Under Digest, September 2004.
Dense Pinot Noir with lovely ripe cherry, plum and dried spice characters. The wine has a silken texture and impressive length. A powerful yet elegant wine that displays a strong fruit emphasis. --Cuisine Magazine on-line
