| Big, ripe and powerful, but ultimately seductive, offering velvety texture and rich plum, cherry, pepper and sweet leather flavors that echo beautifully as the finish sails on and on. Drink now through 2015. 200 cases imported. (HS) --The Wine Specator, September 20, 2003.
Full red-purple; the powerful bouquet ranges through dark berry, leather and boot polish, with the oak restrained. A luscious, high octane palate, oozing blackberry, plum and licorice; the oak and tannins both restrained, another great success. --James Halliday, January 20, 2003.
The 2000 Shiraz The Armagh, produced from a 34-year old vineyard, is one of the vintage’s better efforts. Offering notes of melted chocolate, licorice, blackberries, and black currants, it is full-bodied and ripe, with low acidity as well as tremendous opulence, palate presence, and purity. Consume it over the next 10-12 years. --Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, August 2003.
