| "Light gold/yellow, fragrant with rose petal aromas and a lush palate offering ginger, lychees and spice flavours. Fresh and concentrated." Cuisine Magazine Tasting Panel - Four Stars.
"Say New Zealand white and most people immediately think Sauvignon Blanc, but the kiwis are adept at making great whites from an assortment of other varieties. Gewürztraminer is one and Lawson's Marlborough shows how good it can be. A deep yellow-green, it has an exotically pungent, complex nose with a vinous feel a step on from the simpler, perfumed fruit style that is more common. This has minerally and smoky notes to spicy, rich varietal smells, Turkish delight fruit and a strong floral musky scent. The honeyed, rich palate has a powerful smokey flavour that hints at sweetness, great depth and a long aromatic finish with a little alcoholic warmth. Serious Gewürztraminer. Drink over four years.Food ideas..Rich pate, washed-rind cheese." WINE OF THE WEEK - FIVE STARS, Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Melbourne Age.
"Lawson’s Dry Hills Marlborough Gewürztraminer 2004 has been one of New Zealand’s most consistent Gewürztraminers, and this vintage is no exception. Complexity and taut structure back up the powerful rush of rose petals, lychees and eau de cologne typical of good Gewürztraminer. Give it a few more months in the bottle to reveal its delicious best and it should develop over another two or three years. Four star rating." Charmian Smith -Otago Daily Times.
